• Aloo Kebab and Childhood Memories

This is a dish from my childhood memories – me and my siblings loved it – and my kids love it too. I make it slightly differently to the way my mum made it, but I still love the way she cooked it. It’s a very simple, quick, easy dish and we all love it.Continue reading “Aloo Kebab and Childhood Memories”

  • Christmas Cake

My annual baking tradition:  I make my Christmas cake around my birthday in October.  I use a Delia Smith recipe which I’ve used for years. It’s filled with lots of dried fruits, nuts and spices.  I ‘feed’ it with brandy every week until Christmas week when I put on marzipan and icing. What is Faithful Food?

At Touchstone Bradford food makes up part of so many of our connections; with different parts of our community, between the team and in our individual faith lives. We have meals for special occasions, bad days, good days, rushed days, slow days. Sharing a meal is a way we connect and we would like to connect with you.

So what do we want from you?

We would love to hear what foods play an important part in your life, and why. You don’t have to be a master chef or professional writer, a picture and a short message and the recipe are enough.

It could be a Saturday morning pancake tradition, which reminds you importance of taking time with family.

It could be the first sip of water and taste of a date after a day’s fasting during Ramadan

A warm stew you eat on cold days when you are feeling down.

It could be the Sunday lunch proceeded by grace.

Or the joys of sharing your Rosh Hashanah meal.

Whatever it is we would love to hear from you. So click the Share my Food Story button above!
